Covered Bridge Festival Highlights
 June 7 - 9, 2003

The Independent Westport Area Business Association presented The Second Annual Covered Bridge Festival, which took place June 6 - 8, 2003 in Westport, Indiana. Profits from this festival will benefit the Covered Bridge project.

The Sandcreek Watershed Project conducted the 2003 Duckling Derby Race at the Decatur County Covered Bridge Festival on Saturday, June 7, 2003.

The winners were as follows:

Duckling: 309 were sold
1st place: Devin Winchester - Bicycle & helmet
2nd place: Victoria Cheatham - Fishing pole & tackle box
3rd place: Haley Huff - super soaker water gun

Ducks: 91 were sold
1st place: Gordon Cooper - Camping Package
2nd place: Fred AmRhein - fishing poles & tackle box
3rd place: Chuck Diekhoff - $50.00 gift certificate from Bailey's Flowers

A total of $382.00 was raised for the Covered Bridge Restoration Fund and $382.00 for the Sand Creek Watershed Project.

Duckling T-Shirts were won by:
The Jeff Smiley Family, Bill Smith, Beth Menkedick, Roy Brindley, Kathleen Hagan, Justin Geis, Ben Geis, Aaron Nickolson, Kirsten Elliott, Erin Fee, Jeanne Saylor, Larry Glover, Tami Wenning, Jordan AmRhein, Paul Kerns, Olivia Vaughn and Jim Brewer.
